How we look after your information
A matrimony profile is personal. This page explains, in plain words, what we collect, why, and who gets to see it.

Who we are
Manpasand Rishtey is run by [Legal entity name], [Registered address]. We decide how your personal data is used, which makes us the “data fiduciary” under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What we collect
To sign you in
- Your mobile number.
- The 6-digit codes we text you. We store only a scrambled (hashed) version that can't be turned back into the code, and each code expires after 10 minutes.
- Your IP address and browser details when a code is requested, so we can stop people misusing sign-in.
- On the sign-in screens, Google reCAPTCHA checks that a person, not a program, is asking for a code. It collects details about your device and how you use the page, under Google's own privacy policy.
- A sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
For the profile
- Basics: name, gender, date, time and place of birth, height, marital status, religion, community and gotra, mother tongue, horoscope details, diet and habits, appearance, health details you choose to share, and where they live.
- Education, work, and income as a range.
- Family: parents, siblings, family background and location.
- Interests, the “about” text, and partner preferences.
- Photos, if you add them. We resize them and remove hidden data such as the location where the photo was taken.
When we talk
- WhatsApp messages and emails between you and our team.
Why we use it
- To sign you in and keep your account secure.
- To build and show the profile.
- To find matches and send them to you on WhatsApp.
- To prevent fraud, fake profiles and misuse.
- To meet our legal obligations.
Who sees the profile
- Our team, to find matches.
- Families we suggest you to as a match. They see the profile, never your mobile number.
- Anyone you send a biodata link to. You choose whether it shows photos, and you can turn the link off at any time.
Your mobile number is never shown on a profile. Photos are only served to people signed in to Manpasand Rishtey, or through a biodata link you chose to share.
Who we share data with
We don't sell your data. We share only what's needed with companies that run parts of the service for us: database and file hosting, text message delivery, Google reCAPTCHA to block automated sign-in attempts, and WhatsApp (Meta) for our messages to you. We share data with authorities only when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- The profile, for as long as your account is open.
- Sign-in records, including IP addresses, for up to one year, to investigate misuse.
- When you ask us to delete your account, we delete the profile and photos within 30 days, apart from anything the law requires us to keep.
Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can:
- see the data we hold about you;
- correct or update it (most of it you can edit yourself, from your profile, at any time);
- withdraw your consent and have your data deleted;
- nominate someone to act for you; and
- complain to our grievance officer, and then to the Data Protection Board of India.
To use any of these rights, email [support@your-domain].
Profiles made by family
If you make a profile for someone else, you must have their consent. The person the profile is about can ask us to change or remove it at any time. Profiles are only for people of legal marriageable age.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your data, we'll update this page and tell you before the change affects you.
