Safety tips
Stay safe while you look for a match
Most people looking for a rishta are exactly who they say they are. These habits protect you from the few who aren't.
Never send money
No genuine match will ask you for money, whatever the reason: a medical emergency, a customs fee on a gift, a visa, or an investment opportunity. If someone asks, stop talking to them and report them to us.
Keep your codes and documents to yourself
- Never share the 6-digit code we text you. Manpasand Rishtey will never ask you for it.
- Don't share bank details, Aadhaar or PAN numbers, or copies of identity documents with someone you've only met online.
Get to know them before you meet
- Talk on a video call before meeting, and involve your family early.
- Be careful with anyone who rushes you, avoids video calls, keeps changing their story, or says they live abroad but can never meet.
- Check what you can: their workplace, their family, mutual acquaintances.
Meeting for the first time
- Meet in a public place, ideally with family.
- Tell someone where you're going and when you'll be back.
- Arrange your own travel there and back.
Report anything that feels wrong
If a profile looks fake, uses someone else's photos, asks for money or dowry, or makes you uncomfortable, tell us at [grievance@your-domain]. See the grievances page for how we handle complaints.
If you've lost money or been threatened, call the national cyber crime helpline on 1930 or report it at cybercrime.gov.in. In an emergency, call 112.
